In an effort to save you money over the course of your academic career, all incoming undergraduate students are required to purchase a Microsoft Campus Agreement Software Bundle. This requirement will ensure that all undergraduate students have access to the latest versions of Office and the operating system.  The bundle also provides you with upgrades for this software as long as you remain an undergraduate at Virginia Tech. 

Incoming undergraduate students should not purchase Microsoft Office before coming to Orientation.  Incoming undergraduate students will be prebilled for the bundle during the summer.  For more information see the Requirement FAQs web page or contact Student Software Sales at studentsoftware@vt.edu or 540-231-3969.

Off-campus students may obtain loaner CDs instead of downloading products. They are available for a 24 hour period, after which you are charged a late fee. These CDs may be obtained at our Torgersen Hall location.

Ordering Information

  • Blacksburg Campus Students
    • Purchase products directly from Student Software Distribution at the Torgersen end of Torgersen Bridge.
    • Students will pick up their Engineering Bundle at 3240 Torgersen and a charge will be added to their student bill maintained in the Bursar's office. A bill will be mailed to the student's home address within 30 days.
    • All freshmen engineering students enrolled in introductory courses, who have not previously picked up the Engineering Bundle, will be automatically billed for the bundle and can pick up their Engineering Software Bundle at 3240 Torgersen
  • Extended Campus Students (NOVA, Hampton Roads, Roanoke Valley, and SWVA)
    1. Print out the Order Form and the License Agreement for your software.
    2. Fill the Order Form and License Agreement out completely. There will be a $7.50 charge for shipping & handling.
    3. Make a photocopy of your Virginia Tech ID Card (Hokie Passport).
    4. Make sure to include your home mailing address (we will not ship to other addresses).
    5. Electronic signature confirmation is required.
    6. Send the forms and photocopy of your Virginia Tech ID Card (Hokie Passport) to Student Software Sales by either of the following methods:
      • Mail to 3240 Torgersen Hall, Blacksburg,VA 24061
      • Fax to (540) 231-7634
    7. Send an e-mail message to Student Software to inform us of your incoming mail order.


Notes:

  • Important: Please do not purchase software products prior to check-in, as your account will be charged for the bundle through the Bursar's office.
  • The 5% VA sales tax will be added to all orders.

Purchasing Details

Microsoft Campus Agreement

Students are entitled to these Microsoft products including future upgrades as long as they are a student in one of the covered program bundle majors at Virginia Tech. The Microsoft Campus Agreement licenses will not expire.

Important: Before attempting to install your newly-purchased Microsoft Office product, remember to uninstall any trial versions of Microsoft Office installed on your computer at purchase.
